The Algerian national team coach, Rabah Saadane, has announced his call-ups for his side's World Cup qualifying matches against Egypt and Zambia, which will both be played during the month of June.
The coach has
put together a core group of 25 players and has also named six others who will
be called upon should any injuries arise during their preparations.
As expected, Olympique de Marseille midfielder Karim
Ziani is back in the team after missing out on the March 28 match
versus Rwanda in Kigali due to suspension. He will certainly be a welcome
addition for Saadane.
Meanwhile, Rafik Saifi has been named in the list despite
being ineligible to play in the June 7 match versus Egypt in
Blida. The fact that he was called upon shows his importance in Algeria’s setup
and no one doubts the example he can serve as a true veteran of the squad.
Finally, if one takes into consideration the reserve
players, there are six new faces in the team including Hocine Achiou, Faouzi
Chaouchi, Mourad Delhoum, Abdelmalek Ziaya and Mohamed Messaoud.
