Hoffenheim To Extend Obasi Stay

The Nigerian can expect at least another 18 more months in Germany...

German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim plan to extend the four-year contract of Nigeria international forward Chinedu Ogbuke-Obasi by another year and a half, according to his agent.

"Hoffenheim are keen to extend Ogbuke's deal by another year and a half," said the player's agent, John Shittu.

"The club have made it very clear that he or any of their top players are not for sale. They understand how important he is to them and so they want to do everything to keep him."

Ogbuke signed for Hoffenheim in 2007 from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo and scored 12 goals to help the club win promotion to the German Bundesliga this season.

The 22-year-old forward has so far scored six goals as Hoffenheim top the league standings in only their first season in the German top flight.
