African Nations Cup: Fulham’s Dickson Etuhu Called Up Into Nigeria Squad

Fulham midfielder gets a recall for the Super Eagles squad to prepare for Angola.
Nigeria coach Amodu Shuaibu has handed a recall to Fulham’s Dickson Etuhu as he named his 32-man squad for their training camp ahead of the African Nations Cup which begins in Angola on January 10.

Etuhu returns to the national team after missing out on the qualification process.

Also enjoying a recall is Moroka Swallows’ goalkeeper Greg Etafia. The only home-based player in the team is Chibuzor Okonkwo of Heartland.

None of the players from the Under-20 team that played in the FIFA Youth Championship in Egypt were included and neither are there any from the silver-winning Under-17 team.

In the list of 32, Amodu has stuck with the bulk of the players who made it through the qualification process, with the only surprise being the exclusion of Portsmouth’s John Utaka from the list.

The team is expected to begin their training camp on December 28. List of players invited:
