National Technical Director Han Berger will take the reigns of the Australian national team for their upcoming friendly against Slovenia.
With over 35 years experience as a head coach and technical director with clubs such as FC Utrecht, FC Groningen, Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam and also as head coach of J-League club Oita Trinita, Berger also holds the title of being the youngest ever professional head coach in the Eredivise when he was appointed to the position at 25 years of age at FC Utrecht.
Berger was also a former director of youth teams for the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), head coach of the Dutch Olympic team, and was the Technical Director of De Graafschap before joining FFA in November 2008.
Former Adelaide United manager Aurelio Vidmar will provide support to Berger in his first official match as assistant coach Socceroos since being appointed in June.
The squad for the match will be announced today.
