Melbourne Heart Sign NEC Attacker Rutger Worm

The versatile attacker will leave NEC for an Australian adventure...
Australian outfit Melbourne Heart have completed the transfer of versatile Dutch attacker Rutger Worm from NEC on a free transfer. The forward has an expiring contract at his current employer.

Melbourne Heart coach John van't Schip is building on a new team to enter the A-League next season and saw the 24-year-old Worm as a valuable addition to his squad. Worm will sign a two-year contract at the Melbourne outfit.

"I'm really looking forward to my transfer. I expect it to be an amazing experience. I wanted a new challenge and Australia is a beautiful country. They are really interested in sports and that is important for me," Worm said to De Gelderlander.

Worm is a product of the NEC youth academy and has made well over 100 league appearances for the Eredivisie side since making his official debut back in 2004-05.
