Dino Djulbic had recently failed to impress sufficiently during a trial with SpVgg Greuther Furth, but Rot Weiss Ahlen evidently saw something in him that they liked during a four-day training period.
And the departing Perth Glory defender received warm blessings from the A-League club whom he joined from South Melbourne in 2007.
"Dino expressed a strong desire to find a new challenge and we thank him for his contribution to Perth Glory over the past two seasons and wish him well in a new chapter of his football career," commented Scott Gooch, the chief executive at Members Equity Stadium.
It will be homecoming of sorts for Djulbic, a dual citizen of Bosnia and Australia, as he played for Rot Weiss at youth level before his family left Germany for the first time.
