She received the award for her services to OneGoal and education...
FIFA have awarded the FIFA Presidential Award to Queen Rania of Jordan for her work with the '1GOAL: Education for All' foundation.

The 1GOAL endeavour is driven towards providing education to every youth across the planet, an area in which the queen, husband of Jordan's King Abdullah, has been particularly active.

She said at the ceremony, "We have a long way to go, with lots of hurdles to overcome, but I hope that many more people will join us in our journey towards a world in which all children can realise their dreams of getting a proper education."

The editor of Goal.com Arabic, Mohammed Awaad, gave us a Jordanian interpretation of events.

He said to Goal.com International earlier, "Queen Rania is the new model for leaders in the Arab world. She supports the youth, and also the women of our community.

"She has done great things in Jordan, ranging from efforts to help poor students to helping to decrease the rate of road accidents.

"She also worked with King Abdullah to help elevate many women to positions of leadership within the country: Jordan leads the Arab world in this respect.

"I can say with confidence that she is the most beloved queen in the history of this region."
