Milan defender Kakha Kaladze believes his side would have won the Scudetto this year had they not been crippled with injuries.
The injury curse has struck a number of Milan stars this season. Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Christian Abbiati, Kaka, Ronaldinho, David Beckham and Kaladze himself have all missed significant periods of time due to a variety of physical problems.
The stopper believes the Serie A title could have been Milan’s had the treatment room stayed injury free.
"We have had many problems and we have never seen the first team in action,” Kaladze told Sky Sport Italia. “Alessandro Nesta hasn't even played.
"I am sure we would have won something if we had a full squad. The Scudetto? It's difficult to say what we would have won but it would have been something.
"Hopefully things will go better for us next year.”
The Georgian defender had surgery to his knee last week and he is expected to be out for the next four months. Nevertheless, Kaladze is staying positive, and he has admitted that his recovery is going well so far.
"I am well now, but it's still very early to talk about a return to the pitch,” he said. “I am undergoing rehabilitation and I will be out of action for several months.
"I had been going through plenty of pain since the start of the season and it was decided that an operation was necessary."
