Traore Gunning For United Scalp

Armand Traore is determined to prove his worth to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger by helping Portsmouth to victory against Manchester United this evening...
Traore, who joined the Gunners from Monaco's youth system in 2006, will ply his trade at Fratton Park this season after completing a loan switch last week.

The French under-19 star has made just three Premier League appearances for the London giants, partly due to the imperious form of compatriot Gael Clichy. Hence, he leaped at the prospect of first-team football on the South Coast.

The 18-year-old will make his Pompey debut against the Red Devils tonight, slotting in at left-back in place of Icelandic veteran Hermann Hreidarsson.

And he is eager to impress Wenger by denting United's title ambitions.

“Obviously I had a chat with Arsene and he is going to be watching,” Traore said in The Sun.

“I will speak to him after and some of the players, so I will be doing my best to get a result.

“This is a good chance to prove myself. Harry said he believes in me and I need to be strong.”
