Reigning Belgian champions Anderlecht have successfully completed contract negotiations with young striker Romelu Lukaku. The 17-year-old has signed a contract until the summer of 2015, according to a report in Het Nieuwsblad.
Lukaku came through the ranks of the Anderlecht youth academy and has developed into a key player at the Brussels side since making his debut back in 2009.
The Belgian international scored 15 goals in 25 league appearances this term and was crowned top scorer of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. Lukaku's impressive performances haven't gone unnoticed abroad and clubs such as Chelsea, Milan and Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on the youngster.
"Signing a contract extension makes perfect sense. Romelu is very happy at Anderlecht and there was absolutely no reason to leave the club. Not signing a new deal would only have fed speculation and we are keen to avoid that," said Lukaku's father Roger.
