The 20-year-old is yet to make his Bundesliga debut but the powers that be at the Bielefelder Alm clearly rate the young central midfielder.
Bielefeld's director of football Detlev Dammeier commented: "Besides Zlatko Janjic and Mark Rodenberg, Kevin is the third player from our Under-23 side to sign a Bundesliga deal this season. We are convinced Kevin is ready for this step in his career."
Kerr, born in Germany to Scottish parents, has put pen-to-paper on a two-and-half-year professional deal, which follows less than a week after he declared his desire to play for Scotland internationally.
