Tom De Mul's troubled season at Sevilla has come to an end today after Racing Genk agreed a deal to take him back on loan until the end of the season.
The official Genk website reported the deal as done, and De Mul will be grateful for the opportunity to potentially play first-team football.
Since joining Sevilla in 2007 the Belgian international has found opportunities very hard to come by, mainly because he is competing with Jesus Navas for a spot on the right wing.
The Spaniard is a popular player at the Andalucian side, and displacing him was always going to be tough for De Mul. However, the fact he wil be coming back to Sevilla at the end of the season shows that he has not given up hope yet.
De Mul admitted recently that he does need a change of scenery, and hopefully this move will give him a chance to play more games, as, in his own words, he still has, 'a lot of time', to show his qualities.
The loan deal could mean that Sevilla bring up one of their most promising youngsters, Diego Perotti, from Sevilla Atlético, who are currently second from bottom in Segunda.
