Mariano Andujar rejoins Estudiantes from Catania on six month loan

The Argentine keeper is back in his homeland on a short term deal from the Serie A side, who have also sold Pablo Ledesma back to Boca Juniors

Catania keeper Mariano Andujar has completed his return to Primera Division side Estudiantes on a six-month loan deal.

A statement on the Serie A club’s official website confirmed the short-term switch for the 28-year-old, who made 16 appearances in goal for the Sicilian outfit in the league this season.

The Argentine, who has won eight caps for the national team, will begin his second spell at Estudiantes, having left to sign with the Italian club in 2009.

Catania have also completed the sale of Argentine midfielder Pablo Ledesma to former club Boca Juniors for an undisclosed fee, according to the Primera Division side’s official website.

The 27-year-old made only three appearances in the league this season and makes his return to Boca after a three-and-a-half-year stint with the Serie A outfit.
