Vasco da Gama's Ricardo Gomes to leave intensive care in 24 hours

The Brazilian tactician is on the road to recovery after making significant progress from a stroke during his stint in hospital, and is expected to leave the ICU very soon
Vasco da Gama coach Ricardo Gomes is set to be moved out of the intesntive care unit by Monday evening, after spending two weeks there at the Pasteur Hospital in Rio de Janeiro.

The 46-year-old was admitted to hospital on 28 August after suffering a stroke during a league match between Vasco da Gama and Flamengo.

Ricardo Gomes' condition has continued to register significant improvements in the last few days, with the former Brazil defender responding well to his therapy sessions.

A report issued by the Pasteur Hospital in Rio de Janeiro reads that the Vasco coach is expected to be transferred to a private room by Monday.
