Official: Jo leaves Manchester City for Internacional

Striker failed to make an impact at the club after signing for €20.5 million from Russian giants CSKA Moscow before being loaned out to Everton and Galatasaray
Manchester City have announced the departure of striker Jo, who has returned to Brazil to join Internacional.

The 24-year-old Brazilian was signed by Mark Hughes in July 2008 for €20.5 million. At the time, he was viewed as one of the hottest prospects on the market following an impressive spell at CSKA Moscow.

However, the player struggled to make an impact at the club during his first season and was subsequently loaned to Everton in 2009.

While on loan with the Toffees, Jo netted five league goals in 27 appearances, but he was sent out to Galatasaray after David Moyes terminated the deal when he returned to Brazil without the club's permission.
