The club announced the decision on their official website on Friday with vice-president Roberto Siegmann also stating the decision in a news conference at Beira-Rio.
“The damage to the relationship between Celso and the fans is one of the factors that led to our decision,” explained Siegmann.
“We have not yet decided who his replacement will be. The names being talked about are just speculation. However, we are working on this situation so that it is resolved as soon as possible.”
Roth had come under criticism since Inter’s defeat to Mazembe in the Club World Cup in December last year. More recently, his side lost to Jaguares 1-0 away from home in the Copa Libertadores.
Paulo Roberto Falcao is one of the names being circulated among the media as the man to take over the coaching reigns at Internacional. The Brazilian legend currently works as a television commentator for TV Globo.
