Scolari, who has also managed the Brazilian and Portuguese national sides in a managerial career dating back to 1982, has returned to Brazil to manage the same side he left in 2000.
Scolari has been offered a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Big Green and will officially take the reins on July 15, after completing a stint as a pundit during the World Cup for SABC.
The 61-year-old's previous employment was at Uzbek team Bunyodkor, where he left by mutual consent on May 29 citing his son's education as the main reason.
