French side Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to tempt Fiorentina with a €15 million bid for Alberto Gilardino and a three-year contract worth €15m in total for the striker as director Leonardo prepares to spend another €30m, Goal.com understands.
Gilardino, 29, has been linked with moves to Genoa and Valencia, but PSG are ready to step into the fray as Leonardo has received clearance from the Ligue 1 club to spend more money on transfers this summer.
Goal.com has learned the former Inter and AC Milan coach has Gilardino next on his list. The Brazilian knows the striker well from their days at San Siro when he was a director.
The French plan is firmly based on a €30m sum which will be divided in two to cover the transfer fee and player's personal terms.
Gilardino will be offered a three-year term worth around €5m per annum in wages.
Leonardo will then try to recover the costs for the Italian by selling Mevlut Erding who is not part of the plans at Parc des Princes.
Guillaume Hoarau is also expected to be sold with both players potentially earning €20m for the French side in sales.
