Having already signed Martin Demichelis and Julio Baptista in the January transfer window, Ole reports that the club are lining up a €4.5million bid for the 22-year-old, who has struggled for form since coming back from a nightmare car crash on Boxing Day 2009 which killed three of his closest friends. 'El Enano' is keen to move away from his boyhood club after a difficult Apertura campaign and would be willing to leave immediately. To facilitate a transfer however, he is also reportedly prepared to stay with River until June before switching to Manuel Pellegrini's side.
Currently the Argentines are yet to receive an official approach, but Pellegrini has informed Malaga owner Abdullah Bin Nasser that the former Albiceleste under-20 star is at the top of his winter wishlist, and a more concrete proposal is expected in the next few days.
