The agent of Mariano Pavone yesterday declared that the Real Betis striker will spend the next season at River Plate, after the two clubs arranged a one-year loan deal.
Fernando Hidalgo, speaking to La Red, affirmed that Betis have accepted an offer of $500,000 to cede the Argentine, who previously had represented Estudiantes in the Primera.
"First thing [yesterday], I spoke with the Betis directors and we sorted out one or two of the things that still needed to be arranged. As long as nothing unforeseen happens everything will be completely agreed."
Pavone is expected to travel back to Argentina on Saturday to meet up with his new team-mates and coach Angel Cappa. He is the second big signing in attack for the Nunez outfit, after ex-Velez Sarsfield striker Leandro Caruso.
'The Tank' had been linked with a permanent deal to River's rivals San Lorenzo; as Hidalgo asserted yesterday however, Betis found the notion of a temporary switch much more appetising.
"If Mariano rediscovers the form that he had at Estudiantes and in the first few years in Spain, he is going to increase in value," the agent added.
