Claudio Husain agreed to join Uruguayan outfit Defensor Sporting for one year after having spent the past two seasons at Argentine side Newell's Old Boys.
Husain, 34, was the fourth reinforcement of the club and is expected to be one of their most inspirational players next season because of the experience he carries.
Formerly of Velez Sarsfield, River Plate, Napoli, Tigres and San Lorenzo, Husain decided that it was the perfect opportunity to try his luck at one of Uruguay's most prominent sides.
He found wide success during his career, particularly in the Argentine First Division, in which he won six Argentine champions, the Copa Libertadores, the Intercontinental Cup, the Super Cup and the Recopa Sudamericana.
'The Turk' was also part of the Argentine squad that participated in the 2002 World Cup in Japan/Korea. He also participated in the Copa America twice.
Defensor Sporting are also set to sign Marcelo Guerrero and Leandro Ezquerra, while they are expected to extend the contracts of Pablo Gaglianone and Carlitos Diaz.
