Talisca has taken the European scene by storm this season, netting eight times in his first 10 Primeira Liga games following his €4 million move from Bahia in July, with his mix of physique and technique prompting comparisons with Manchester City ace Toure.
Talsica's fantastic form has seen him called up by Brazil for the first time, with the 20-year-old attacking midfielder having been drafted into Dunga's squad for the Gillette Brasil Global Tour friendlies with Turkey and Austria.
An international cap less than 18 months after making his professional debut would represent a remarkable rise to prominence, but former Bahia co-ordinator Newton Mota never had any doubt that Talisca was destined for great things, admitting that he always thought the youngster capable of becoming 'the new Rivaldo'.
"We received offers from Flamengo, Gremio and Sao Paulo for him," he told Radio ESPN. "During a tour in Europe, Valencia also asked to take him on loan. So, he has always been a player who catches the eye, by the way he strikes the ball and his personality.
"Talisca has become the darling of Portugal and some people call him 'Yaya Talisca'. His technique is very accurate but I liken him more to Rivaldo, who was also left-footed, with a long stride and capable of scoring goals from distance.
"Of course, Rivaldo is a world champion so it is very early to make comparisons, but if I see a resemblance between Talisca and anyone else, it is with him."
Brazil meet Turkey in Istanbul on Wednesday night before taking on Austria in Vienna on November 18.
