Dynamo Kiev striker Andre was the first member of the Brazil squad to arrive in the United Arab Emirates for the Selecao's friendly against Iran, and the former Santos star was in great spirits as he joked about the dress habits and temperature that confronted him in Abu Dhabi.
Along with Lucas, Andre arrived from the Ukraine earlier than the main Brazil delegation, which began the long trip across the Atlantic on Monday evening. Speaking to Globoesporte, the youngster was relaxed and had his tongue firmly in cheek when he referred to the unfamiliar dress styles he witnessed in the Arabian nation.
"Everything here is lovely, but the people are all walking around in hoods and cloaks. It gave me a bit of a fright because all the staff here looked like terrorists!" the striker joked as he walked around his temporary home.
"I came here in a car with someone who was hooded like that, and I wondered if he was going to blow up the car!"
Coming from the chilly climes of the Ukraine, Andre also noticed the searing heat of Abu Dhabi's streets - swapping 5° cold for temperatures pushing 40°.
"It feels like it is about 60° and that I have just walked into a sauna. The important thing however is to play and not let the temperature affect you- and it is much better to be hot than in five degrees," the player stated before once more collapsing in laughter.
Mano Menezes' Brazil side will take on Iran on October 7th, before flying to England for October 11th's test against Ukraine.
