Mozart, who in March terminated his contract with Spartak Moscow, will confront the remainder of the Copa Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro with Palmeiras.
The Brazilian giants have had to endure a number of injury setbacks this season, and because of this, the club's directors have decided to reinforce their midfield in order to stay competitive.
According to the local press, Palmeiras came to an agreement for the player to defend their colours until December of 2010.
Mozart, who played in Europe for nine years, will be inscripted for the Copa Libertadores if Palmeiras reach the knockout phase of the competition. To do this they will have to beat Colo Colo in Santiago next Wednesday.
The midfielder was part of the Brazilian U-23 squad that took part in the Sydney Olympics in the year 2000, when the side was coached by Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the current Palmeiras trainer.
Mozart's former clubs include Coritiba, Flamengo, Reggina and Bordeaux.
