Danny signs contract extension with Zenit St Petersburg

Zenit midfielder has penned a four-year deal to continue his time at the Petrovsky stadium after arriving three years ago
Portugal international midfielder Danny has signed a new deal with Russian champions Zenit St Petersburg, the club have confirmed.

A statement on the club's official website reads:

"On June 14 in St Petersburg the club held a signing ceremony regarding a new contract between FC Zenit and Miguel Danny. The new agreement is designed for four years."

The deal sees Danny tied to the club until 2015 after his previous terms were set to expire.

He joined Zenit in 2008 from Russian side Dynamo Moscow. During his time at the Petrovsky he has won a league title among other trophies.
