Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow have completed the transfer of Ukrainian international Olexandr Aliyev from Dynamo Kiev for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old has signed a contract until 2013.
Lokomotiv finished a disappointing fourth in the Russian Premier League last term and the Moscow side were eager to add some fresh blood to their ranks in order to fight for the title again in the upcoming season.
Head coach Yuri Semin insisted on the signing of a new attacking midfielder and Lokomotiv turned their attentions to Aliyev after the transfer of Sporting CP's Marat Izmailov fell through.
Aliyev is a product of the Dynamo Kiev youth academy and had developed into an important first team player at the Ukrainian titans in the past couple of seasons. Additionally, he has made several international appearances for Ukraine.
