TEAM NEWS: Higuain partners Messi for Argentina as Reus earns Germany start

The Real Madrid striker will play alongside his Barcelona counterpart for the high-profile friendly, with the Dortmund star lining up for the hosts
Germany coach Joachim Low has handed Marco Reus a chance to impress for his country in Wednesday's friendly against Argentina.

The 23-year-old was controversially left out of Die Mannschaft's starting line-up for the Euro 2012 semi-final loss against Italy, but has made the cut ahead of Andre Schurrle against the South Americans.

Meanwhile, Lars Bender will start alongside Sami Khedira in the deep-lying midfield positions, with Marcel Schmelzer filling in for captain Philipp Lahm, who has been given time off due to the birth of his child.

Ron-Robert Zieler has been given the nod between the sticks, while Miroslav Klose  will captain the side after beginning the Azzurri clash on the bench,

Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella has picked Gonzalo Higuain ahead of Sergio Aguero to partner Lionel Messi up front.

The 57-year-old has stuck with the 4-4-2 formation that has served him well in recent months, with Fernando Gago and Javier Mascherano starting in central midfield and Jose Sosa and Angel Di Maria on either wing.

At the back, Marcos Rojo has seen off competition from Clemente Rodriguez to start on the left side of defence.

Germany (4-2-3-1): Zieler; Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Schmelzer; Khedira, Bender; Reus, Ozil, Muller; Klose

Argentina (4-4-2): Romero; Zabaleta, Fernandez, Garay, Rojo; Sosa, Mascherano, Gago, Di Maria; Messi, Higuain
