Thiago Motta: I Was Born In Brazil, But I'm Proud To Play For Italy

Italy's Thiago Motta ready to face Germany as he side-steps his Brazil heritage...
Thiago Motta "feels Italian" as he gets ready to make his debut for Italy against Germany on Wednesday.

Cesare Prandelli confirmed the Brazilian-born Inter midfielder will start tomorrow's friendly in Dortmund.

And despite his Brazil origins, Motta has fully embraced his Nazionale chance.

"Wearing the Italy shirt gives me a completely different emotion compared to all the rest I have tried in football," he told the press at Coverciano.

"It will be a great day for me tomorrow and I feel privileged.

"I was born in Brazil but I feel Italian. I am happy to be here."

Motta is raring to go, but he will pass on signing the Italian national anthem.

"I know the Inno di Mameli, but I don't know how to sing it," he added.
