Turkcell Super Lig side Ankaragucu have decided to part company with head coach Roger Lemerre in the aftermath of the club's disappointing league campaign in the 2009-10 season.
The Ankara side started the season full of ambition and targeted qualification for European football. However, they never managed to live up to the expectations and had to settle for 12th spot in the table.
Lemerre started the job as Ankaragucu coach in December 2009 when he replaced the fired Himet Karaman, but the experienced French coach was unable to turn things around at the Turkish side.
Ankaragucu have appointed Umit Ozat as the new man in charge of the ambitious club. Ozat previously worked as Lemerre's assistant and played for Koeln and Fenerbahce during his active career.
