Matteo Ferrari, who signed for Besiktas in the summer, has been one of the under-performing facets of the Istanbul giants this season and could be offloaded in January.
The Turkish powerhouse only just missed out on winning the league
title last term, but things are not exactly going as expected this
season. They currently sit 11th in the table with only six points
from six matches.
The 29-year-old left Italian side Genoa for Turkey in July for a reputed fee of €5 million, but Ferrari has been unable to live up to his price-tag so far. The defender signed a four-year deal worth €2.5m-per-year at Besiktas, but he could soon be returning to the peninsula.
Furthermore, Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Tabata's future at Besiktas could also be in doubt, according to a report in Zaman.
The highly-rated playmaker has yet to make an impact at his new club after joining from Gaziantepspor this summer, and head coach Mustafa Denizli's patience with the Brazilian is reportedly running out.
