Ajax agree terms with Heerenveen over Assaidi - report

The tricky attacker previously seemed to be on his way to Galatasaray, but a move to the Amsterdam powerhouse is now on the horizon instead
Oussama Assaidi appears to be on his way to Ajax as the Eredivisie champions have reached an agreement with Heerenveen for the summer transfer of the Morocco international, De Telegraaf reports.

The Amsterdam giants are eager to strengthen their attack and had previously set their sights on Luciano Narsingh, but failed to agree terms with Heerenveen and the winger eventually joined PSV instead, prompting Ajax to turn their attention to the Morocco international.

The tricky attacker's contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion is due to expire in June 2013, and the Frisians are keen to cash in on the 23-year-old winger this summer.

Assaidi initially appeared to be on his way to Galatasaray, but the move collapsed after the Istanbul giants refused to meet his personal demands.

The former De Graafschap star now seems to get his desired transfer to a bigger club after all, though, following the agreement between Ajax and Heerenveen.

Assaidi has yet to agree personal terms with the Godenzonen, but the move is looking ever more likely.
