Groningen 0-0 PSV

Both sides needed the full three points, but failed to impress in the opening 45 minutes. The teams started the second half with attacking intentions though and Ola Toivonen came close to opening the scoring before Maikel Kieftenbeld hit the cross-bar with a powerful shot. PSV midfielder Atiba Hutchinson then received his marching orders, but no goals were to be seen in the Euroborg.

Utrecht 5-1 AZ

Utrecht started the match superbly and needed only 10 minutes to break the deadlock via Belgium international Dries Mertens. They doubled their lead only two minutes later when Mertens once again found the net with a well placed shot. The away side pegged one back after the interval via Maarten Martens, but the Domestedelingen restored their two-goal lead via Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The hosts continued to dominate and Mertens got his hat-trick in the dying minutes of the match before Van Wolfswinkel piled even more misery on AZ well into stoppage time.

Roda 0-0 Heerenveen

Neither side really had anything left to play for in Kerkrade. Roda striker Mads Junker came close to breaking the deadlock, but saw his header hit the upright. For Heerenveen, towering striker Bas Dost got a few good chances, but he only hit the stanchion as well.

Heracles 3-0 ADO Den Haag

Heracles needed a win to qualify for the end-of-season play-offs, but they struggled to find an opening in the ADO defence in the opening 60 minutes of the game. They deservedly opened the scoring midway the second half though when Willie Overtoom converted a spot kick. Overtoom then doubled his side's lead in the 85th minute before Swedish youngster Samuel Armenteros put the match to bed moments later with a calm finish.

Feyenoord 1-1 NEC

The Nijmegen side somewhat surprisingly opened the scoring after only 12 minutes of play when Lasse Schone surprised the Feyenoord goalkeeper with a long range strike. The Rotterdam side were not impressed too much though and young striker Luc Castaignos levelled the score again minutes before the interval.

Vitesse 1-4 Excelsior

Excelsior started the match with attacking intentions and got the deserved opener when Guyon Fernandez found the net at the half-hour mark. However, Spanish youngster Marti Riverola netted the equaliser after 62 minutes of play to frustrate the Rotterdam side's attempts to stay clear of the relegation play-offs. Excelsior never gave up though Geert-Arend Roorda restored his side's lead when he converted a spot-kick in the closing stages of the game. Roorda then made it three for the Kralingers minutes later before Tim Vincken added another one well into stoppage time. They failed to net the fifth goal they so desperately needed though and will now fight for their Eredivisie status in the play-offs.

De Graafschap 1-0 VVV

De Graafschap were the better side of the two and created plenty of chances to break the deadlock. Nevertheless, star striker Rydell Poepon was the only one to beat the VVV shot stopper early on. VVV had a chance to equalise late in the game via Michael Uchebo, but the Nigerian attacker failed to add his name to the score sheet.

Willem II 0-1 NAC

Already relegated Willem II were keen to get a good result against their regional rivals, but they never looked like getting the full three points against NAC. It was thus not much of a surprise that the guests eventually opened the scoring via Julian Jenner in the closing stages of the game. Andreas Lasnik almost levelled the score, but his shot hit the upright.
