Ajax's Mounir el Hamdaoui unlikely to play Eredivisie title decider against Twente

The Morocco international is being plagued by injury and has revealed that it is unlikely that he will feature in Sunday's game
Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax will likely have to make do without the services of tricky attacker Mounir el Hamdaoui when they take on table toppers Twente in the Amsterdam ArenA in Sunday's title decider.

The Morocco international picked up a hamstring injury in the build-up to last weekend's KNVB Beker final against Twente and was forced to watch his side's 3-2 loss from the stands due to the knock.

El Hamdaoui was initially hopeful of recovering in time for Sunday's match, but the former AZ star now fears that he won't be match fit in time.

"I obviously hope to be there on Sunday, but it will be very difficult. Injuries never come at a good time, but this is a terrible moment. These are the kind of games you want to take part in," said El Hamdaoui to AD.

The absence of El Hamdaoui means that Miralem Sulejmani, Siem de Jong and Lorenzo Ebecilio will probably form Ajax's three-man attack again on Sunday.
