Eredivisie table toppers PSV are eager to hold on to Bulgaria international Stanislav Manolev and are set to open contract talks with the tireless full-back.
"We have informed Stanislav that we're eager to hold on to him and that we're ready to open talks. We expect a response from his agent in the near future," PSV's sporting director Marcel Brands was quoted as saying by Voetbal International.
The 25-year-old right back joined PSV from Litex Lovech in the summer of 2009 and has since become an important first team member at the Eindhoven side. Manolev has so far made 39 Eredivisie appearances, scoring two goals in the process.
Manolev missed several matches in the first half of the season due to an ongoing groin injury, but returned to full match fitness shortly ahead of the winter break.
He has been linked with Aston Villa and Milan in the past few months, but PSV are clearly keen to hold on to the defender. Manolev's current contract runs until the summer of 2012.
