Ajax have received some disappointing news from the injury front in the build-up towards the upcoming Eredivisie match away against Breda side NAC on Sunday afternoon.
Head coach Frank de Boer will have to make do without the services of Uruguay international Bruno Silva as the experienced full-back has been ruled out for several months due to injury.
Silva, who only just returned to Ajax after a one-year loan spell with Internacional, sustained a shoulder injury during the Amsterdam side's training camp in Turkey earlier this month.
Ajax were initially hopeful that the injury would heal with some rest, but a report on RTV Noord-Holland now reads that the 30-year-old right back will undergo surgery on Wednesday to correct the problem.
Silva could be sidelined for up to three months as a result.
