PSV Attacker Jonathan Reis Faces Lengthy Spell On The Sidelines

Dutch powerhouse PSV have been dealt a cruel blow on the injury front in the aftermath of their 3-1 home win over Roda on Sunday afternoon.

The Eredivisie table toppers will have to make do without the services of highly rated attacker Jonathan Reis for the remainder of the season after the Brazilian youngster sustained a serious knee injury.

The 21-year-old attacker was stretchered off the pitch in the 17th minute after a collision with Roda goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton.

Reis was immediately taken to the hospital to clarify the extent of the injury and a scan has now revealed that the attacker has damaged the anterior and the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

PSV have confirmed on their official website that Reis won't return to match action this season, but the Eindhoven side haven't disclosed any further information about exactly how long the attacker will be sidelined.
