Ajax midfielder Evander Sno has left hospital on Wednesday afternoon and is expected to return to the training pitch next week. The former Celtic star was taken to the hospital on September 13 after suffering a heart attack in a match with the reserves.
The 23-year-old underwent several investigations in the past couple of days to find the cause of his heart problems. No direct cause for the heart attack could be found though.
Therefore, an internal cardiac defibrillator has been put inside Sno's body as a precautionary measure. The device continuously monitors the heart rhythm in order to detect and correct overly rapid arrhythmias.
A report on the official Ajax website reads that Sno is expected to return to the training pitch somewhere next week. He will start with a number of individual training sessions before resuming regular training action.
