Injury Setback For Feyenoord Attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson

Feyenoord attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson won't return to match action any time soon after suffering a setback.
Feyenoord coach Mario Been will have to make do without the services of experienced attacker Jon Dahl Tomasson for a few more months as the former Denmark international has endured an injury setback.

Tomasson sustained a thigh injury during Denmark's 2010 World Cup group stage match against Japan and has since been struggling to return to full match fitness.

The forward was initially expected to resume squad training at the beginning of September, but Tomasson has endured a setback and could now be unavailable until January 2011.

"I have long hoped to have him back quickly, but the messages I get now are far from optimistic.
It is still at least a few weeks. I fear he is unavailable for the winter," Been was quoted as saying by Algemeen Dagblad.

The 34-year-old attacker has a contract until the summer of 2011 at Feyenoord and is widely expected to leave the Rotterdam side at the end of the season.
