Reigning Eredivisie champions Twente have completed the transfer of former Dutch international Denny Landzaat on a free transfer. The experienced midfielder has signed a one-year deal with the Tukkers.
Twente were in the market for a new midfielder because of the departure of Cheikh Tiote to Newcastle United earlier this summer. Landzaat has already be training with Twente for several weeks, but hadn't signed a contract with the Enschede side until now.
The 34-year-old Landzaat started his professional career with MVV and also played for Willem II, AZ, Wigan Athletic and Feyenoord. The Rotterdam side opted to release the midfielder on a free transfer this summer and Landzaat had since been looking for a new club. The technically gifted midfielder has also made 38 international appearances for Oranje.
Landzaat could make his official debut for Twente in the Eredivisie game away against VVV on September 11.
