Official: West Ham United Take Ajax Forward Miralem Sulejmani On Loan

Eredivisie powerhouse Ajax have confirmed on their official website that young attacker Miralem Sulejmani will leave the club for West Ham United on a temporary basis. The Serbian international will sign a one-year loan deal with the Hammers subject to a work permit hearing.

West Ham only just escaped relegation from the Premier League last term and new manager Avram Grant is building a new team to ensure that the London side steer clear of the drop zone in the future. They have already secured the services of Thomas Hitzlsperger, Pablo Barrera, Frederic Piquionne, Tal Ben Haim and Winston Reid.

Sulejmani joined Ajax from Heerenveen in the summer of 2008 for a reported fee of €16.25 million, but the young attacker failed to live up to the high expectations in Amsterdam. He has so far made 68 appearances for the Godenzonen, scoring 12 goals in the process. His current contract at the Amsterdam ArenA runs until the summer of 2013.

The 21-year-old attacker will now try to relaunch his career with West Ham United, where he will work with his compatriot Zeljko Petrovic. The Serbian coach is Grant's assistant at Upton Park.
