Twente Have Made History - Steve McClaren

The Twente gaffer was over the moon with his side's domestic success...
Enschede side Twente recorded a 2-0 away win against NAC on Sunday to win the Eredivisie title for the first time in the club's history, and head coach Steve McClaren was absolutely delighted with the Tukkers' success.

"This is an extremely good performance from the team and I'm very proud of what the lads have achieved this season," McClaren was quoted as saying at a post-match press conference.

"The players have shown that they have a great mentality. There was a lot of pressure on us to perform because of Ajax's good performances after the winter break, but we never panicked and kept on winning.

"We are the deserved winners of the Eredivisie title. The players always stayed relaxed and stepped up whenever needed. Twente have made history and the president deserves the credit for what he has done here. He's the key figure behind Twente's success."
