Ambitious Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen have appointed Jan Everse as their new head coach. The former Zwolle coach has signed a contract until the end of the season at the Friezen.
The 56-year-old Everse had been out of work ever since he got the sack at Eerstedivisie side Zwolle earlier this season. He has also worked for Rotterdam side Sparta in the past.
Heerenveen were in the market for a new coach due to the resignation of Jan de Jonge earlier this week. De Jonge decided to throw in the towel in the aftermath of his side's 3-1 loss against VVV.
The Friezen have been performing rather disappointingly so far this season. Heerenveen sit only joint 14th in the table after 21 games. Additionally, they were eliminated in the group stage of the Europa League.
