Beleaguered Eredivisie outfit NEC have completed the transfer of experienced defender Jeroen Heubach from Twente on a six-month loan deal.
The 35-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at Twente by head coach Steve McClaren and recently expressed his desire to leave the club on a temporary basis in order to get regular first team action elsewhere.
Heubach is a product of the Twente youth academy and has made 273 league appearances for the Tukkers since making his debut in December 1994.
NEC were in the market for a new left back due to the expected departure of Youssef El Akchaoui. The Moroccan defender will be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer, as NEC are eager to get his salary off the wage bill.
