According to a report in Dutch magazine Voetbal International, Eredivisie table toppers Twente are on the verge of signing young attacker Vagif Javadov from Azerbaijan side Qarabag.
Twente have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old forward ever since they locked horns with Qarabag in the Europa League earlier this season.
"We have already reached an agreement with Qarabag about the transfer fee. However, we have yet to agree personal terms with Javadov," said Twente president Joop Munsterman.
"Joining Twente will benefit my career in the long term. They recently travelled to Azerbaijan to discuss a transfer and I will go to Holland in the first week of January to seal the deal," added Javadov to Azerbaijani reporters.
Javadov is a product of the CSKA Moscow youth academy, but failed to make an impact in the Russian giants' first team. He has developed into the star player at Qarabag though since joining them. Javadov has been capped 24-times for Azerbaijan.
