Europa League hopefuls Twente have completed the signing of highly rated defender Dwight Tiendalli on a free transfer. The Eredivisie club have confirmed the transfer on their official website.
The 23-year-old defender was released on a free transfer by Rotterdam giants Feyenoord in the last week of August. Tiendalli has inked a one-year deal at the Enschede side.
The right back will have to compete with Ronnie Stam for a spot in the starting XI at his new club.
Tiendalli started his professional career at Utrecht in 2004 and was widely considered as one of the best defenders of his generation. He moved to Feyenoord in the summer of 2006.
However, the former Holland under-21 star failed to live up to the high expectations in Rotterdam and struggled to get regular first team action in the past couple of years, before being released on a free transfer earlier this summer.
