Recently a report emerged from The Netherlands that Eredivisie side Feyenoord are keen to cash in on gifted playmaker Jonathan de Guzman and this has not gone unnoticed in Spain.
The young midfielder's current Feyenoord deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010 and the Rotterdam side would rather sell him now than to see him leave for free on a Bosman move next term.
Spanish side Valencia were already being linked with the 21-year-old earlier this summer, but they were not convinced that De Guzman was fully match fit again back then after a serious knee injury.
The Primera Division outfit have now re-ignited their interest in the Holland under-21 starlet though, and are keen to add him to their squad before the end of this transfer window, if a report in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf is to be believed.
Valencia are set to part company with Ever Banega, who is being linked with a move to Everton, and head coach Unai Emery reportedly sees De Guzman as the perfect replacement for the Argentinean youngster.
