According to a report in ProSport, Greek powerhouse AEK Athens are interested in securing the services of Ajax's Romanian right-back George Ogararu.
Ajax farmed the defender out on loan to Steaua Bucharest this season and are keen to offload him on a permanent basis this summer. Ogararu is surplus to requirements at the Amsterdam giants because of the presence of Gregory van der Wiel and Bruno Silva.
The report suggests that AEK president Nikos Notias has already met with the player's representative and that the transfer could be a done deal by the end of this week.
The 29-year-old’s current Ajax deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010, but the Eredivisie side are reportedly ready to allow him to leave the club on a free transfer.
