According to Dutch broadsheet De Telegraaf, Juventus are closely monitoring the situation of Argentinean shot stopper Sergio Romero. The talented youngster currently plays for Eredivisie champions AZ.
The Italian giants are in the market for a new glovesman due to the ongoing speculation regarding Gianluigi Buffon’s future at the Serie A outfit. The Italian international has recently been linked with a switch to Milan.
Romero is an interesting option for Juventus because he has both Argentinean and Italian nationality. The 21-year-old joined AZ in 2007 and has developed into an important first team member since then.
The Alkmaar outfit probably won’t be too keen on letting go of Romero. The highly-rated shot stopper’s current AZ deal expires in 2013, meaning that he won’t join Juve on the cheap.
Meanwhile, the Turin-based outfit are reportedly still interested in AZ forward Moussa Dembele. However, Werder Bremen ace Diego still appears the Old Lady's top target at the moment.
