Daniel Majstorovic put in a man-of-the match performance in Celtic’s 3-1 win at Dundee United. The experienced defender scored his first goal in the SPL to ensure Celtic kept their 5 point lead over Rangers at the top of the table and admitted it was a huge win for the Bhoys.
"It was a massive three points for us, it was very important,” he said to ESPN. First half goals from Anthony Stokes and Mark Wilson gave Celtic the perfect start to the game and the Swede admitted it was good to start the game in such an impressive manner: “We played brilliantly first half, they came out second half and of course we had a 2-0 lead and they showed a good reaction. They scored a lucky goal but we showed great character and came back into the game so it was good.
“It was a good free-kick from them but obviously we were not concentrating enough, sometimes this happens in a game but the important thing for us was that we got the three points.”
Celtic have a tough run of fixtures coming up as they face title challengers Rangers three times in their next five games and Majstorovic said it was important his side did not drop points today: “Of course it is important, every game that is coming up is going to be massive for us so we just need to take it game by game and re-focus.”
