Official: Leonardo Pisculichi joins Shandong Luneng as Chinese transfer window closes

The 2006, 2008 and 2010 Chinese champions have made some late transfer activity, signing the Argentine from Al Arabi, along with Paraguay international Jose Ortigoza
Former Qatar Stars League Player of the Year attacker Leonardo Pisculichi has joined Shandong Luneng as the Chinese transfer window closed on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Argentine, who previously spent time with Spanish club Real Mallorca, joins Shandong from Qatari outfit Al Arabi.

Pisculichi made 124 appearances for Al Arabi, netting 67 goals during his time in Doha, including helping the club win the 2010 and 2011 Sheikh Jassem Cup, along with 2008-09's Player of the Year honour.

Shandong Luneng, who won the Chinese Super League in 2006, 2008 and 2010, are currently ninth on the table under the stewardship of coach Henk ten Cate.

The Jinan-based club also announced the signing of Paraguay international Jose Ortigoza, while Brazilian striker Obina has been loaned out to Palmeiras for the rest of the year.
